Nancy Neathery

Nancy Jean (Eales) Neathery passed away August 8, 2017 at The Neighborhoods at Quail Creek. She was born October 24, 1936 in Oak Park, IL to Irving and Georgina (Randall) Eales. She married Larry L. Neathery on August 26, 1961 in Springfield, IL.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by daughter, Jennifer Lourwood (Kenny) with granddaughter Libby; step- granddaughter, Samantha Derryberry (Jason) with 2 great-grandchildren, all of Springfield, MO; and sister, Mary Lou Patterson of Pentwater, MI.

Nancy was a dedicated teacher of English and Social Studies in Springfield, IL and Bakersfield, MO for over 30 years. She loved reading, TV police shows, politics/history and her feline friends.

Funeral services will be held August 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church. Private inurnment will immediately follow. Online condolences may be made at www.gormanscharpf.com. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Quail Creek, Good Shepherd Hospice, and St. James' Daughters of the King. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, 2645 E Southern Hills Blvd, Springfield, MO 65804 or Watching Over Whiskers.
