Lena Marlene Pruitt Staggs of Calico Rock, Arkansas
Lena Marlene Pruitt Staggs, daughter of the late Henry E. Pruitt and Velma Lee Teegarden Pruitt, was born January 6, 1954 in Old Joe, Arkansas. She departed this life November 15, 2017 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Bobby Staggs June 6, 1972 in Old Joe, Arkansas and together they raised three children. Bobby died a few months before their 31 wedding anniversary. Marlene spent her life as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend. During her working years, she worked in the dietary department at White River Healthcare and Community Medical Center of Izard County.
Marlene is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law: Robert and Kathy Staggs of Wideman and Roy and Sarah Staggs of Calico Rock; one daughter: Suzette Hendrix of Calico Rock; one sister: Esta Lee McGowan of McGowan Mountain; eight grandchildren: Gary Sample, Bobby Sample, Shayna Staggs, Roy Staggs, Waylon Sample, Braxton Staggs, Keagan Staggs and Kimber Hendrix and a host of other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one sister: Minnie Marie Henderson.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Graveside funeral service will be Friday, November 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Galatia Cemetery with Johnny Young officiating.
Pallbearers: Gary Sample, Bobby Sample, Zack Devors, Billy Bob Franks, Jason Estes and Mike Rider.
