Virgil Shive the son of the late Charles Leon Shive and Gertrude McGlown Shive along with his twin sister Virginia was born October 10, 1918 at Webb, Mississippi went to be with his Savior on November 14, 2014 at the Ozark Health Nursing Center in Clinton, Arkansas at the age of 96 years of age.

Virgil was a retired employee of Ralston Purina Company and Delta Tire Supply of Memphis, Tennessee. He was United States Army Veteran serving in Germany and France, a dedicated Christian and active Church member at Bellevue Baptist Church, Memphis, Tennessee and West Side Baptist Church, Greers Ferry, Arkansas. Always giving unselfishly of his time and talents, he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and other capacities. While at Bellevue he was a member of DOER OF THE WORD Sunday School Class and was active in Mission Ministry at Shelby County Penal Farms. When Virgil went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus, Jesus said, "Well Done Good and Faithful Servant".

He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha (Windham) Shive of Fairfield Bay, AR., Son, Steven V. Shive of Collierville, TN., Daughter, Susan Carol PIggot of Katy, Texas, Sister, Rabie Coleman of Coushatta, LA., five grandchildren, Natalie Shive, Ashley Warrren, Patricia Lockman, Daniel Shawn Piggott and Danielle Susan Young, Five Great Grandchildren, Ashtein Harmon, Cayden Lockman, Ezekiel Hardy, Alison Michelle Searfoss and Kately Renee Young. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at the West Side First Baptist Church in Greers Ferry, Arkansas from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the Church with Rev. Doug Inzer and Dr. Bill Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Memorial Park.
