McDANIEL, Andrew Lafayette - Andrew Lafayette McDaniel died at 8:25 Tuesday night at his home four miles southwest of Rogers. He had been in poor health for some time but his condition had been considered serious for only the last three weeks. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock at the Pleasant Grove Baptist church where Mr. McDaniel had been a member for many years and were conducted by Rev. A.A. DuLaney, pastor of the Rogers Baptist church. Interment was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery. Mr. McDaniel was born November 29, 1856 in Benton county and was 68 years, one month and 15 days old at the time of his death. He died on his farm, which was a part of the old original homestead taken by his father when the former came here from Tennessee some seventy years ago. He was married Dec. 22, 1887 to Miss Julie Ann Smith of Lowell, who survives him. To this union was born ten children, nine of whom are living: Ernest McDaniel of Healing Springs; Will and Jasper McDaniel of Rogers; Wesley McDaniel of Seattle, Wash.; Austin McDaniel of near St. Louis; Asberry McDaniel, Lowell and Winfred and Guy McDaniel at home, as is also a daughter, Miss Fannie. Mrs. Bessie Fagala died two years ago. Mr. McDaniel is also survived by two brothers, one in Oklahoma City and another near Tahlequah, and by four sisters, Mrs. Abe McGarrah, Mrs. Margaret Pitts, Mrs. May Jane Archey and Mrs. Armiza Keeling, all of Rogers. The deceased was one of the best known men in his neighborhood and stood high in the esteem of all as a good citizen, husband and father and his passing is regretted by a large circle of warm friends.

{from Fairview) Andrew McDaniel died at his home five miles southwest of Rogers on Tuesday and was buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery Wednesday afternoon. Mr. McDaniel was 68 years old, having always lived in Fairview School District and on the same farm. He has eight grown boys and all of them attended the funeral. One of them, Wesley McDaniel, came all the way from Seattle, Wash.
