1919 - 2015
Susie Lee Wells, 95 of Lexa, died Thursday, February 26 at Crest Park Retirement Inn in Marianna.
Susie was born August 6, 1919 in Helena, Arkansas to Lacy Washington. She was the widow of Eugene Wells.
Susie was a life member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Marianna, Arkansas.
Susie was a caregiver to numerous children throughout the community. Although she had no children of her own, she help to raise many children.
Her parents, her husband, and two brothers: George Washington and Charlie Washington and a sister Beulah Washington all preceded Susie in death.
Survivors are her primary caregivers: Victoria Perry and Charlene Hamilton both of Lexa, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 8 at 2 PM at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, in Marianna with Reverend Napoleon Gillespie officiating. Internment will take place at Mount Zion Cemetery.
