Mrs. Burton was born in Cedar Springs, Miss., and was the daughter of the late Sidney Mitchell and Levy Walker Mitchell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Walls Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Burton was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Burton; two brothers, Hubert and John Mitchell; and two sistes, Maggie Story and Stella May. She is survived by two sons, Loyd Burton of North Little Rock and William "Bill" Burton of Clarksville, Tenn.; three daughters, Wilma Dean Mathews of Palestine, Erma Jean Hendrix of Marianna and Betty Allshouse of Hot Springs; one brother, Homer Mitchell of Marianna; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
