SPRINGDALE — Bobby Dale Cherry, 75, of Springdale, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. He was born June 22, 1940, in Saddle, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Cherry, and his daughter, Becky Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bonnie Cruse Cherry of Springdale; his mother, Marie Hightower Cherry, of Pocahontas; two children, David Robert Cherry and wife Laci of Tontitown, Laura Taylor Williams and husband Danny of Springdale; one brother, Jerry D. Cherry and Joyce Mortensen of Springdale; four grandchildren, Alexandra Williams of Norman, Okla., Abigail Williams, of Springdale, Scarlett Rae Cherry and Silas Lee Cherry both of Tontitown; and two nephews, Brian Cherry and wife Charity of Broken Arrow, and Steven Cherry and wife Amanda of Springdale.

Following graduation from Pocahontas High School in 1959, Bob joined the United States Army where he served in Germany for three years. Upon returning from the military, he attended Eaton Barber College in Little Rock. He worked in Hot Springs before moving his business, The Stylist, to Fayetteville in 1975 and later to Huntsville Street in Springdale.

Bob was a strong Christian, attending Robinson Avenue Church of Christ for more than 35 years. He studied the word of God diligently and enjoyed sharing his knowledge. Bob preached at many small congregations such as Wesley Church of Christ and Combs Church of Christ for several years and attended numerous bible studies in Northwest Arkansas.

Bob loved fishing and was an avid golfer who spent many hours on local courses. One of Bob's clients commented Bob's shop is "the only place in town where you could get a haircut, a sermon, and a golf lesson all for one price". He loved visiting with community members and had many of his clients who were dear friends for 30+ years.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3. at Heritage Funeral Home, online guest book at www.heritageofnwa.com. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Honduras Mission Fund through Johnson Church of Christ, 5602 Elmore Street in Springdale, Ark., 72762.
