Dr. B.B. Nunnally came to Marianna with his family in 1874. He both practiced medicine and was a druggist in Marianna.

Nunnally Elementary School was built on Dr. Nunnally's land, which was sold to the Marianna School District by his daughter Jessie on condition that the school be named in honor of her family.
