FAYETTEVILLE — Carla Louise Magness of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. She was born in Camden, Ark., on Nov. 18, 1957, to Charles and Roberta Magness.
Carla graduated from Camden High School in 1975. After graduating from Hendrix College in 1979, she attended UAMS in Little Rock where she studied Experimental Pathology. In 1981 she moved to Fayetteville to care for her ailing parents. Carla worked as an account manager for McGraw-Hill for the past 20 years. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and an avid advocate for animals of any species.
Carla is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Roberta Magness. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, C.R. and Kay Magness; two nieces, Cameron Magness, all of Fayetteville and Cara Busker and husband, Michael; two great nephews, Andrew and Charles Busker all of Dallas, Texas; two aunts, Anne Leake of Plano, Texas and Janet Magness of Camden, Ark.; cousins Cathy Vevoda of California and Bill Magness of Arizona.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Chapel of Nelson Berna Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of the Ozarks, 1020 One Mile Road, Fayetteville, Ark., 72704, or Willard Walker Hospice Home, 325 E. Longview St., Fayetteville, Ark., 72703.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Willard Walker Hospice Home for their care and support for our family. In addition, Angellita Sanbothe, for her brief but loving care for Carla while in our home. Online condolences at www.nelsonberna.com.
