In the "Lee County History" book the following is written by Dan Felton III who lives on what was known as the Felton Plantation:

In 1847 my, great, great grandfather, John J. Felton, came to Lee County from North Carolina......married Columbia Bowden and they had six children: John Reuben (J.R.), Eula, Dora, Laura, Ernest and William Frank..... William Frank was born in 1871 and he married Elizabeth Osborn of Boone County in 1890 and they had four children: Ethel, married John Moye of Lee County... Carrie married A.C. Parker of Lee County...George Rueben (Rube) married Lorayne West of Lee County...Johnnye married Thomas Edwin Turner of Mississippi.

Dan Felton III, the writer, is stated as the descendant of J.R. Felton, who had married Helen Hale from Valley Springs, AR.

Note;

I would like to add that AR Highway #1 runs right through the Felton farm which was a plantation in the 1920's. Up until the late 1970's there were still many farm laborers still living on the "farm." As farming became more mechanical, there was no need for as many laborers and the houses were torn down. My husband was born and raised in Lee County and remembers seeing many teams of horses lined up in the field plowing the land.
