June 6, 1924 - August 3, 2012
Henry Donald Applegate, born June 6, 1924 and went home August 3, 2012. He was preceded by his father and mother, David Claude Applegate and Cora Lee Applegate; and two brothers, Lloyd Applegate and DC Applegate.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Applegate; two sons and daughters-in-law, David & Marcia Applegate of Plano, Texas; Doug & Sandi Applegate of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Christopher Applegate & his wife Sandy from Leachville, Arkansas, Joshua Applegate of Plano, Texas, Chase Applegate & his wife Kelly of Hot Springs, Hannah Middleton & her husband Andy of Anna, Texas, Chloe Applegate of Leachville, Arkansas, Bethany Hall & her husband Dez of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Austin McDaniel of Hot Springs, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Faith Marie Applegate and Gabriel Ryan Applegate both of Leachville, Arkansas.
Henry Applegate was a WWII Veteran with 5 Bronze Stars who served in the European Theatre. He was a faithful husband of 66 years, wonderful father and grandfather. He served as Southern Baptist Minister for over 60 years and pastured churches in nine cities and towns in Northern Arkansas and one church in Columbus, Mississippi. He was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and a loving pastor, counselor, and friend to thousands of people during the course of his life. He will be fondly remembered by many whose lives he impacted with the love of Christ. To God be the glory for his grace and mercy upon his humble servant.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00, Thursday, August 9 at Hot Springs Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 10 with full Military Honors by VFW Post 2278. followed by a Memorial Service at Lake Valley Community Church 2:00 – 4:00
