FAYETTEVILLE — Jeff Parker, 47, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Oct. 24, 1966, in Stillwater, Okla.

Jeff grew up in Muskogee, Okla. He attended Hilldale Schools and graduated from Muskogee High School in 1985. He was a graduate of Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Okla. He was the owner and operator of Charlie's Chicken restaurant of Fayetteville for the past 16 years, and a member of Church at Arkansas.

After a three and a half-year battle with cancer, Jeff has gone home to meet our Savior. Jeff was an incredibly loving son, brother, husband and father and friend.

The joy of Jeff's life was his family. He and his wife, Jamie, have been married for 10 happy years. Jeff became a father in 2007 to the absolute love of his life, Benjamin.

Throughout Jeff's illness, he has opened others' eyes to the love and peace of Christ as he lived each day as if it might be his last. May God be glorified through the testimony of the life of this wonderful man.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Parker; and his grandparents, Eddie and Marie Parker, and Charles and Missie Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie; and son, Benjamin of the home; mother, Cheryl Parker of Muskogee, Okla.; brother, Matthew Parker and his wife, Erin, of Muskogee, Okla.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and an abundance of friends.

Visitation will be held on today, May 30, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.

A celebration of Jeff's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, at University Baptist Church, 333 W. Maple St., in Fayetteville, with Pastors Jonathan Beasley and Greg Stutts officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville.

Memorial contributions may be made to H.O.P.E. Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave., Springdale, AR 72762; or Church at Arkansas, 1905 E. Mission Blvd., Fayetteville, AR 72703.
