Calvary Cemetery
Pulaski County,
Arkansas

Calvary Cemetery is the official cemetery for the Diocese of Little Rock. It covers more than 30 acres of land that was donated to the diocese in 1823. It is one of the oldest cemeteries in Arkansas. Mausoleums were built on the grounds in 1987 and 1995. Today, Catholics may choose between ground plots, mausoleum crypts or cremation niches for their final resting place in the historic cemetery. Many deceased priests who served the diocese are buried in the “priests’ circle,” which began in 1933. There are several memorials on the grounds for the unborn and young children, including a monument dedicated for Project Rachel with the names of children their mothers lost through abortion. The annual diocesan All Souls Day Mass is celebrated at the outdoor altar in the cemetery on Nov. 2.
