SPRINGDALE — Carl Thomas Gillmore, age 95, of Springdale, died Sept. 8, 2011, at Circle of Life Hospice House in Springdale. He was born May 27, 1916, near Ionia, Kan., to Carl H. and Linda Sawrey Gillmore, who preceded him in death. He moved to Rogers, Ark., in 1933 and married Loye Crain in 1938. They were married 64 years and had four children. She preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annabel Drake Gillmore, to whom he was married almost three years.

Mr. Gillmore was a committed member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ for over 60 years where he served as a song leader for over 35 years, and also served as a deacon and elder. As a member of the Springdale Lions Club, he volunteered many hours to their fundraisers and was also a volunteer at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He farmed, later became a partner in Allis-Chalmers farm equipment and retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after 20 years of service.

Mr. Gillmore is survived by his wife, Helen Gillmore, whom he married in 2011, of the home; one son: John Gillmore and his wife, Judy, of Georgia; three daughters: Linda Wray and her husband, Buddy, Dinah Fuller and her husband, Jim, and Jeannie Gillmore all of Springdale; eight grandchildren: Cindy Wray Spain, Scott Wray, Jana Wray Morrison, Jamie Fuller Chandler; Anissa Fuller Doty, Sheila Fuller Stone, Kara Fuller Eagle, and Amanda Gillmore Kidd; 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and six stepchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ, 1506 W. Robinson Ave., Springdale, Ark., with Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home. There will not be a public visitation. Loye Dove Crain Gillmore, 93, of Springdale, died Aug. 2, 2002, at Washington Regional Medical Center in
Fayetteville. She was born April 14, 1909, in Elm Springs, the daughter of Albird and Elsie Duncan Crain. She was a member of Robinson Avenue Church of Christ and had taught school in Osage, Bethel, Bellview and was a substitute teacher for the Springdale school system. She attended the University of Arkansas, was a 40-year member of the Springdale PTA, a past member of the Home Demonstration Club, past Sunday school teacher and she enjoyed needlework and baking.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Tom Gillmore of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, John Gillmore and Judy of Ringgold, Ga.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Wray and Buddy, Dinah Fuller and Jim and Jeannie Gillmore, all of Springdale; one brother, Hubert Crain of Abilene, Texas, one sister, Crystal Andrews of Greenville, Texas; eight grandchildren, Scat Wray, Jamie Chandler, Anissa Doty, Sheila Fuller-Stone, Kara Fuller, Cindy Spain, Jana Morrison and Amanda Kirby; 13 great-grandchildren, Brandon Chandler, Joel Chandler Fuller Chandler, Kaylie Fuller-Stone, Blake Doty, Bethany Doty, Camille Spain, Claire Spain, Megan Wray, Sarah Kate Wray, Hayes Morrison, Allie Kirby and Brooke Kirby.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Robinson Avenue Church of Christ with Gary Prazier and Dub DeLoach officiating.

Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Memorial Funeral Home in Springdale.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Chandler, Joel Chandler, Blake Doty, Deryie Oxford, Michael Purdom and Deryi Powers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Porter, Jerry Dannenhauer, J.T. Jones, Roy Howard, Haskell Jackson and Glenn Cate.
