Robert served as a Ferry Pilot for the 18th Texas Inftary in July-Aug 1862. He also provided sustenance for the troops, and forage for the horses. Later in the war, Robert served in the 12th Battalion SS's as part of General Dockery's Command.
Robert's nephew Wm. Worsham served in the 20th Arkansas, and on the staff of General Dockery as Inspector General. The Veteran Administration chooses to commemorate Robert with the 12th Bnattalion SS instead of his service with the 18th Texas.
The Arkansas Gazette for June 28, 1870 reported that Robert H. Wynne had died in New Orleans on Friday Last (June 17th) and that his remains would be brought by steamboat to his home in Lafayette County.
