Leslie Eugene Staples, of Sherwood, Arkansas, was born March 13, 1927 to Joe W. and Geraldine Staples.
He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 30, 2013.
He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, having served in both the Coast Guard and Marine Corps.
Les is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Edith; two sisters, Dorothy DeSalvo and Shirley Petric; and three sons, Stephen, Greg, and Rick Staples. Additionally, he leaves behind nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was a servant of Jesus Christ and a dedicated family man, leaving a legacy of faithfulness, strength, and steadfastness. He will always be cherished by family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock on September 3, at 10:00 A.M.
A memorial service will take place at North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood, Arkansas on September 7, at 10:30 A.M.
Arrangements are by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Arkansas.
