Billy J. Williams, 87, of Greenbrier, went to be with the Lord Monday, May 2, 2016. He was born February 1, 1929 in Corsicana, TX to the late Floyd and Lucille M. (Brown) Williams. Billy was also preceded in death by his son, Dan Williams.

Billy was a member of the Copperas Springs Baptist Church and a retired veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded several medals and commendations including, the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Aviator Badge, SR Army Aviator Badge, WWII Victory Medal, Army Commendation with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal with 14 Oak Leaf Cluster, Distinguished Flying Cross, 4 O/S Bars, Master Army Aviator Badge, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Billy was also a farmer who raised cattle and registered quarter horses, and loved restoring Volkswagens. He also enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting and he always plowed a garden the size that his wife could always work. Most of all Billy enjoyed his grandchildren's activities and was their number one fan.

Billy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Christa Williams, daughter, Diana Watkins and husband Mitchell of Guy, grandson, Gunner Williams, and granddaughter, Kinsey Watkins.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday May 5th at Copperas Springs Cemetery, with Bro. Gary Burdin officiating. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Alexander, Ricky Wiedower, Joey Glover, and Roy Jones.
