Joe H.Gibson, 80, of Little Rock, AR, passed away January 15, 2014. He was born June 12, 1933 in Mayflower to Arthur Ulysses and Lena Viola Helton Gibson.
Joe proudly served in the United States Navy, participating in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW Post 9095. He enjoyed his civilian years as a truck driver, and was of the Baptist faith.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his lovely wife of 17 years, Charlotte Fox Gibson; three sons: James (Cynthia) Gibson of Willisville, Buddy (Diana) Hudson of Mabelvale, and Scott (Edwina) Bowen of Oppelo; six daughters: Mary (James) Warner of Benton, Marilyn (Virgil) Moser of Batesville, Regina (George) Stipe of Little Rock, Janet (Pete) Thomas of Little Rock, Barbara (Dean) Riggin of Sardis, and Sandra (Mike) Williams of Warren; 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family suggests memorials be made to VFW Post 9095, 1121 Gamble Road, Little Rock, AR 72211 (501)225-9849 or to the charity of your choice.
Graveside honor service will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery, North Little Rock. Brother Tim Curtis will officiate.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 20, 2014 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas.
