Earl E. "Mac" McAfee, 83, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, November 25, 2013.

Mr. McAfee was born on December 11, 1929, in McRae, Arkansas, to Vaudie and Zelma (Weir) McAfee.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hoyt McAfee; and two sisters, Syble Foster and Doris Marsh.

Mr. McAfee is survived by his wife, Charley; one son, Eric Schmidt (Amber) of North Little Rock; two daughters, Karen McJunkin (Butch) of Little Rock and Jill McAfee (Michele Sprain) of Bentonville, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Kristen Schmidt, Jeremy McJunkin, and Felicity Harris; two great-grandchildren, Dakota and Jaxon McJunkin; one sister, Dorthy Keathley of North Little Rock, one brother, Paul McAfee (Dixie), and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. McAfee proudly served as an Army Medic during the Korean War. After the Korean War, he served in the Army National Guard during which time he was called for duty in the Little Rock Central High School Integration Crisis. Mr. McAfee was a member of the American Legion Post 334 for over 30 years serving as Commander for three terms. He was also a member of the Society of Forty and Eight serving as the Chef de Chemin de Fer, Voiture 182. Mr. McAfee was an active member of VFW Post #11474. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks #1004 in North Little Rock for twenty-five years. Mr. McAfee retired from the Army National Guard after twenty-six years. He is also a retired administrator from John L. McClellan Veteran Health Care System with thirty-five years of service.

Funeral services were at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at the Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock.
