Wife of Charles Allen Reedy, US MARINE CORPS, CPL, KOREA
Shirley Ann (Griffin) Reedy, our dear mother left this world to be in heaven with our Lord and Savior on October 13th, 2013. She was born in Keo, Ark. on February 8th, 1938, to Edgar and Elsie (Bowden) Griffin. She was preceded in death by her youngest son Christopher Michael Reedy, her parents, one sister Margaret Elam, and four brothers, Gene, Bobby, Charlie, and Henry Griffin.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband of 57 years, Charles Allen Reedy Sr. along with five children, Chuck (Cindy) Reedy of North Little Rock, Lynette (David) Weaver of Sherwood, Sandy (Phillip) Hill of North Little Rock, Ginger Reedy of Jacksonville, Pete (Rhonda) Reedy of North Little Rock, Melissa Reedy of El Paso, 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and a long time friend Barbara Royce.
She was a faithful member of First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock for 52 years. She was well known for her baking and candy making with special friend Vera Quattlebaum, and often used this talent for fundraising for the church. She enjoyed working for the church for many long years. She also enjoyed researching her family history. She loved to travel with a longtime friend Paula Nicholson and went to Europe with her on several occasions. She was loved very much and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday October 16th, 2013 at the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock, 1401 Calvary Road. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 17th, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock. Services will be officiated by Rev. Joel N. Holmes and burial will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
