Cynthia Ann Smith-Dorn, 64, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. She was born December 1, 1952, in Leola Arkansas, to loving parents, George Miller Smith and Florece Green-Smith. After graduating from Malvern High School, she moved to Little Rock, where she attended Capitol City Business College. With this new-found knowledge, she was hired as a clerk for Arkansas Power and Light. Her quiet demeanor and humble personality did not stop her from actively participating in a community bowling league where she enjoyed competing with friends. She was also a talented seamstress who created most of the clothes that she wore. As she got older you could find Cynthia gardening or watching her favorite channel, HGTV.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dorn Jr., a sister, Sandra Kay Smith and a brother, Victor Lynn Smith.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Henry L. Dorn III (Alicia) of Baltimore, Maryland and Remando Paschal Dorn of Little Rock, Arkansas; step-son, Tyrone Bealer (Kena) of Malvern; step-daughters, Miranda Weaver Witherspoon (Steve), Sonya Arnold (Andre), Inga Dorn Weaver, all of Malvern;

parents, George Miller and Florece Smith; brothers, Rex Miller Smith (Barbara), Malcolm Smith (Laurie), Bart Smith (Avon), Marty Smith (Charlene), Eric Smith (Tameka), all of Malvern;

one granddaughter Re'Myia Dorn of Little Rock, AR; one grandson Remando Dorn, Jr. of Little Rock, AR; and a host of other family and friends.

A Homegoing Celebration Service will be held at, Bethel A.M.E. Church, 1220 Carmichael Street, Malvern, AR, with Rev. Rex Smith delivering her eulogy.

Brandon’s Mortuary, 329 West Third Street, Malvern, AR. in charge of arrangements. Her earthly body will be laid to rest with her husband at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, Arkansas.


Henry Lee Dorn, Jr The home going service for Henry Lee Dorn, Jr. age 64, of Little Rock formerly of Malvern, Arkansas will be in the Deliverance Temple Church Of God In Christ. Pastor Larry Babb will be officiating and Rev. Rex Smith will deliver the Eulogy. His earthly body will be laid to rest in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors. Services are provided by Brandon's Mortuary, Inc.

Henry Lee Dorn, Jr. was born September 4, 1949 in Sheridan, Arkansas to the late Henry Dorn, Sr. and Inell Paschel Dorn.

His family moved to Malvern at a very young age where he grew up, and he graduated from the Malvern Public Schools. Henry was a member of New Director Baptist Church in Perla, Arkansas.

After graduating from the Malvern Public Schools Henry joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam from March 28 1968 until March 22, 1969 where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service medal with Five Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 50 Devices before receiving his Honorable discharge.

Henry was joined in Holy wedlock to the lovely Cynthia Ann Smith. He was employed with Union Pacific Railroad before becoming disabled.

Henry was predeceased by his parents, and his grandmother Mrs Pinkie Pierce who reared him from a very small child.

Henry departed this life on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the Baptist Health Medical Center, Little Rock, Arkansas.

He leaves to celebrate his life and keep his memories alive his loving wife Cynthia Smith Dorn, of Little Rock, Arkansas; three sons: Tyrone Bealer of Malvern, AR, Henry Laffit Dorn III (Alicia) and Remando Pashal Dorn (Tenishia) all of Little Rock, AR; one daughter Sonya Bealer Arnold (Andre) of Arkadelphia, AR; two step daughter Marinda Witherspoon of Malvern, AR and Inga Dorn-Weaver of Lakeland, Florida

one brother, Ronald Dorn of St Louis, MO; two sisters: Betty Mitchell (Clarence) of Sheffield Lake, OH and Mary Ann Cochran (Welton) of Flint, MI;

Uncles whom he was reared with James Pierce (Judy) and Gene Pierce both of Malvern, AR; his Father and Mother-in-law George Miller and Florece Smith of Malvern, AR, a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Almer Lee, Micha Smith and VictorLynn Smith. Active Pallbearers are: Sam Wesley, Joshua Johnson, Truman Danner, Myron Heard, James Larry Smith and Ricky Reed.
