Alice Martin, 101, of Pettigrew, Arkansas, died September 10, 2017 at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville, Arkansas. She was born November 20, 1915 at Friley, Arkansas, the daughter of George Robert and Amy Pearl Wall Karr. She was a homemaker and a founding member of the White River Baptist Church. She was an accomplished poet, loved gospel singing, quilting and was a world class Scrabble player. She adored her grandchildren and spent hours entertaining them. She was the widow of V. M. Martin who preceded her in death on January 1, 1998. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Alvie Karr and Elmer Karr and by two sisters, Eula Ferrell and Marvie Marrs.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, George and Charlotte Martin of Pettigrew, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Clark of Huntsville, Arkansas; one sister, Eunice Hoskins of Montclair, California; six grandchildren, Steve Eaton, Rhonda Pifer Kirk, Lisa Gilley, Teresa Baker, Audra Kimball and Rocky Martin; fifteen great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Monday, September 18, at the Boston Cemetery with The Reverend Robert Creech officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Steve Eaton, Michael Eaton, Rocky Martin, R. C. Frye, Ethan Frye and Joe Karr.
