Carolyn Moore Schran, 79, of Bella Vista, formerly of North Little Rock, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013.

Born in Akron, Ohio, on December 29, 1933, Carol moved with her family to Hot Springs as a teenager and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1952. She and her husband Jim, met in high school and married December 18, 1954, in Hot Springs.

Carol was a member of the Certified Dietary Managers Association, having previously worked in various central Arkansas health facilities. She was active in the Methodist church and local community, particularly as a volunteer for Arkansas Hospice of Little Rock. She was named the Arkansas Hospice Volunteer of the Year in 2002 and recently celebrated her 10-year volunteer anniversary.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, and three brothers and is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Schran, of Bella Vista: a daughter, Linda Schran Chitwood, of Bella Vista; two grandchildren, Carolyn and Courtney Chitwood, of Bella Vista and Little Rock, respectively; a sister in-law, Mrs. Patsy Hall, of Hot Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will take place at the Arkansas Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas.
