Norma W. Koi of Hot Springs at the tender age of 93 went peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Her demise ended a five generation span. Norma was born July 5, 1921 in Macon, MO to Lawrence and Mary Nichols Remaker. They preceded her in death as well as her beloved husband, Zoltan Koi; sisters, Norene Lyman and Joan Remaker; grandson, Ronald Romero and great grandson, Tyler Brill and stepson, Zoltan Koi, II. She was a former member of Trinity Church. She was currently a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Norma was a devoted and faithful christian. She was our modern day Proverbs 31 woman. She loved the Lord and studying his word. She raised five sons along, with the help of God. Norma worked hard to provide for her family. Her work career included, Boeing Aircraft, VA Hospital Admin., Kansas Gas and Electric Company and Levi Towers. Her children arise and call her blessed. She often told her sons that she was not going to die. Norma simply slept into the Lord's embrace. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.

Her memories will forever be etched in the heart of her sons, Edward (Janice) Romero of West Blocton, AL, Michael Howell of Clarence, MO, Matt Langston, Jimmy Langston and Carl Langston all of Hot Springs; her sister, Jane Ann (John) Smart of Wichita, KS, her belated husband's children whom she respected as her own, Regina (Bert) Koi Neely of Rogers, AR, Susan (Bernd) Koi Richter of Wasilla, AK, Miki (Yvonne) Koi and Julian (Beverly) Koi all of Bastrop, TX; twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-four grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren' a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Seventh Day Adventist Church 401 Weston Road with Brother Lynn Baerg and Bobby Thornton officiating. Norma will be laid to rest with her husband in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.



Zoltan Ferenc Koi, 88, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012. He was born Oct. 6, 1923, in Whitewood, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years, Norma; four sisters; five children; five stepsons; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a leather worker in Ashtabula, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator in the Central Pacific during World War II.

Zoltan studied French horn at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, Mass. He played with the Boston Symphony in Carnegie Hall, and the Boston Pops. He also played with the New England Opera Company, the San Antonio Symphony, the East Texas Symphony, the Hot Springs Woodwind Quintet, and the Hot Springs CSO Band. Over the years, Zoltan also taught French horn to many students.
