Geraldine "Jerry" Porter Weiland
1934 - 2009
Geraldine (Porter) Weiand, 75, of Copperas Cove, Texas, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009.
She was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Wilmot, Ark. Jerry was saved when she was a young girl. She worked at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas for 25-years. She lived in the Elkhorn/Prunedale are from 1961 to 1966, then moved to Gonzales in 1966. In 1990, Jerry and Bill moved to Ash Flat, Ark. to retire. Due to sickness, she moved to her daughter Bunny's home in Copperas Cove, Texas in 2007.
Survivors: Son, Williams (Billy) Joe Tilley of Gonzales; daughters, Jannette (Stewart) Austen of Roseville, and Bernadette Miyamoto of Copperas Cove, Texas; son, James Roy Tilley of Coalinga; sister, Carol Jean (Porter) Stanley of Bossier City, La.; and aunt, Estelle (Morris) Jones of Portland, Ark. Jerry had seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Weiand and her parents, James Ozan and Alice (Morris) Porter of Camden, Ark.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made in her name to the U.A.M.S., University of Arkansas Medical Center Foundation, 4301 W. Markham St., No. 716, Little Rock, Ark. 72205-7199, for Breast Cancer Research Dept., for Geraldine (Porter) Weiand.
Inurnment: 11 a.m. Friday, Oct 2, at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark. 72120, 501-638-2259, where Jerry will be joined with her husband, Bill.
