George Nathaniel Bumpus, Sr. was born on December 7, 1944 in Nansemond County, Suffolk, VA to the late, Macon Emmett Bumpus and Jessie Chapman Bumpus. On Friday, July 8, 2016, he was called home to rest eternally.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged before starting his career with Remington Arms. He worked for Remington in Bridgeport, Connecticut before transferring to Remington in Lonoke, Arkansas. He worked there for a total of 43 years which gave him great satisfaction before retiring in 2008.
His spirit will live on through his loving and devoted wife of 46 years, Beverly Bumpus, of Little Rock, AR; his three children; Tonya Bumpus (Maurice) of Richmond, Virginia, Stasia Bumpus Broughton (Broderick) and his namesake, George N. Bumpus, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas; his four grandchildren; his sister, Martha Faison of Bridgeport, Connecticut and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and several friends.
Mr. Bumpus will be interred privately at Arkansas State Veteran's Cemetery.
