Andrew M. Schreiner, Jr., 79 of Star City, passed away peacefully at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock on Wednesday, July 22. He was born July 10, 1936 in Paris, AR to Andrew M. and Thelma Schreiner.

Andrew was a proud Marine retiree. He served two tours in Vietnam, receiving the Silver Star. After retiring from the Marines, he started his career at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He served as a security guard, chemical equipment repairer and he ended his career as a supervisor for Tech Escort after 20 years. He then went to work for several companies cleaning up old chemical sites, retiring for good in 2008. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Joe, Frank, Melvin, Jim, Jess and Chuck; and three sisters, Ann, Hilda and Alda.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Fay Baugh Schreiner of Star City; two sons, Daniels Schreiner of Pine Bluff and Mark Schreiner of Syracuse, NY; two daughters, Lisa Taylor of Hot Springs and Lori Gregg of San Antonio, TX; one brother, John Schreiner of Cayman, AZ; one sister, Aletha Rehard of Powder Springs, GA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 25 at Griffin Funeral Service from 2:00-4:00PM. A graveside memorial service will be held next week at Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in North Little Rock.
