Doyne Melton, 89

YELLVILLE - A funeral for Doyne Melton, 89, of Yellville will be 10 a.m. Monday at Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church with the Rev. Ron Robbins officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Burns Funeral Home. Mr. Melton died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

He was born Oct. 26, 1914, at Yellville to Henry Frank and Minnie Ola Callahan Melton. He married Bernice Hall Oct. 18, 1942. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Melton was manager of Ozark Milk Products Co, now Meyenberg Milk Products, at Yellville. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church, Marion County Farm Bureau and American Legion Post 61.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Melton of Yellville; two sons, Bill and Pat Melton of Jenks, Okla., and Joe Melton of Harrison; five grandchildren, Janet Cripe, Jeff Melton, Brandi Melton, Bradley Melton and Laura Jo Melton; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Cripe. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with Ray Morrow, G.C. Melton, Tommy Morrow, Cody Burrow, Jerry Jones and Fred Burrow as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Richard Ahrens, Dr. Bob Ahrens, Shawn Beavers, Tim Beavers, J.C. Hall, Randy Randolph, Richard Sims and Kim Shraviner.

In llieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church Building Fund in care of Martha Ott, P.O. Box 403, Yellville, AR 72687.
