Dora Harris, 96, of Dover, AR, died Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Mary's Regional Med Center in Russellville, AR. The daughter of Jesse and Mary Cowan, she was born October 15, 1915 in Oark, AR. She worked for St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Booger Hollow Tabernacle where she participated in revivals. She also ministered at Moberly Prison in Missouri to maximum security prisoners who called her "grandma". She enjoyed watching western movies, reading old western books, puzzles, fishing, bird watching, traveling and especially taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bert Harris; two sons, J.D. Cowan and Boddie Harris; three grandchildren, Mary Burton, David Harris and Diane Turney; four great grandchildren; her parents; two sisters, Blanchie Korze and Charlodie Medlock; and two brothers, Columbus Cowan and Jesse Cowan.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Allen Harris and wife Connie; six daughters, Lucille Burton and husband Henry, Mary Ledford and husband Gerald, Shirley Mason and husband Jess, all of Dover, AR, Pirley Ledford & her late husband Willis of London, AR, Jeannie Tovar and husband Selso of Dardanelle, AR, Joyce Haines and husband Clyde of Scotland, AR; 28 grandchildren; 96 great grandchildren; 82 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 31, 2011 at the Booger Hollow Tabernacle in Dover, AR. Rev. Bobby Hogan will officiate. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery in Dover, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 P.M., today, at the funeral home
