Betty L. Bates, 69, of Dover, died Thursday, February 12, 2015, at her home.
She was born January 13, 1946, in Russellville, to Lee Roosevelt and Florence Ellie Ford Johns.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God at Dover. She had worked for Area Agency on Aging and Russellville Nursing and Rehabilitation as a CNA in private home health care.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Eugene Johns, Monroe Johns and Ralph Johns; and two sisters, Violet Johns and Geneva Baker.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, a daughter and son-in-law, two grandchildren, two step-grandsons, two brothers and sisters-in-law, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews, her other girl in London; and all of her church family of Pleasant Grove Assembly of God.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Pleasant Grove Assembly of God.
Burial will be in Owens Cemetery and under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 5-6 p.m., at the funeral home.
