Obit:
Charles Lee Standridge, 76, of Dover, died Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. The son of Charley and Lura Owens Standridge. He was born September 16, 1931 in Johnson County.
He married Lenora Shuffield October 15, 1951.
He retired after 31 years with the US Forestry Service, Pleasant Hill District. He then raised poultry for Tyson Foods for 10 years. He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church where he was past Sunday School Superintendent and currently a trustee and secretary of the building fund. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and being the handyman at his home, farm and church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Herbert Standridge, Don Standridge, Clinton Standridge; two sisters, Ruth Clark and Wanda Judkins.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, one son of Dover, one sister, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2:00PM, Monday, June 9, 2008 at the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Bruce Smithson, the Rev. Bob Freeman, and the Rev. Jackie Brewer officiating. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery at Dover, by Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be 3-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
