Donald Paul Pannell was born July 9, 1939 in Hartman, Arkansas, and passed away December 18, 2016, in Clarksville, Arkansas, at the age of 77.

He was a Coach and Teacher for 35 years- teaching Social Studies, Drivers Education, and coaching football, basketball, baseball, track, and golf over the years. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1963; Mr. Arkansas and Mr. YMCA in 1959; received his Bachelor’s Degree from College of the Ozarks in 1968 and his Master’s Degree from Pittsburg State University in 1973; and a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Burns Pannell and Lois Pauline Lingar Pannell Bishop; and two brothers, Melvin Burns Pannell and James Robert Pannell.

He is survived by his wife, Molly Emilie Maples Pannell; two sons: Stephen Clifford Pannell and wife, Elizabeth, of Sherwood, Arkansas and Christopher Paul Pannell and wife, Megan, of Dumas, Arkansas; a daughter, Regina Kae Pannell of Clarksville; a brother, Roger Dane Pannell and wife, Sandra, of Clarksville; a sister, Delilah Ann Pannell Johnson of Clarksville; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend David Wright officiating. Burial will follow in West Mount Zion Cemetery in Hartman, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Josh Fultz, Jerry Dorney, Johnny Mays, Matthew Mooney, Bruce Dunlap, and Bill Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rip Teal, Pat Warren, and Ronnie Ashlock.
