James Loren Roberts, 67, a resident of Dover, formerly of Modesto, California, died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1949, in Richmond, California to Frank Loren and June Gladys Montgomery Roberts.
He was a graduate of Thomas Downey High School in Modesto and worked many years as a carpenter building houses.
He attended the Pleasant Grove Assembly of God at Dover and enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing.
Never having children of his own, he loved his nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces like they were his own children.
He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal grandparents, Onie and Estelle Montgomery.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Owens Cemetery near Dover with the Rev. Jackie Pledger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service of Russellville.
