Robert Hoppe, 81, of Salem, Arkansas, passed away, Sunday, June 11th, 2017 in Highland, Arkansas.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1936, son of the late Rose (Radford) and Alfred Hoppe. Bob spent his life as a brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Moneysmith in Medina, Illinois on November 30, 1963 and to this union three children were born. Bob was a member of Village Bible Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. He served in the United States Marine Corp and after graduating college he spent his life as a missionary and Bible translator in Colombia, South America.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hoppe of the home; sons, Matt Hoppe of Highland, Arkansas, and Nathan Hoppe, currently serving in Albania as a missionary; daughter, Rachel Rendon of Denver, Pennsylvania; brother, Joe Hoppe of Altus, Oklahoma; nephew, Barry Hoppe of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and grandchildren, Ethan Hoppe, Naomi Hoppe, Joel Hoppe, Tristan Hoppe, Katherine Hoppe, Daniel Hoppe, Lilyan Rendon, Lydia Rendon, Brienna Rendon, Analiese Rendon, Brigietta Rendon and Keegan Rendon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rose Hoppe; brother, Carl Hoppe and nephew, Todd Hoppe.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 15, 2017 beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Philip Pinto officiating at Village Bible Church in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Highland, Arkansas. Visitation will be from noon until service time at Village Bible Church.
Pallbearers include: Ethan Hoppe, Tristan Hoppe, Joel Hoppe, Keegan Rendon, Barry Hoppe and David Watkins
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bible Translation Projects at Pan America Mission, PO Box 429, Newberg, Oregon 97132-0429 or the Christian charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements entrusted to Doty Family Funeral Service of Salem, Arkansas.
