FAYETTEVILLE — Sue Jeffcoat Trammell, 89, died June 7, 2014, at Fayetteville, Ark. The daughter of Ruth Fielding Jeffcoat and Malley Jeffcoat, she graduated from Altheimer, Arkansas High School. Prior to her marriage she resided in Pine Bluff, Ark., where she was an executive secretary for Arkansas Power and Light Company.

Her parents, a sister, a brother and a nephew predeceased her.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Trammell of Fayetteville; a nephew, Gary Huselton and wife, Jeanie, of Dallas, Texas, their children; nephews and a niece, and their children.

At a national convention out-of-state she was once introduced as "A True Magnolia Blossom of the South." Her personality created countless friends for her over the years and across the country.

As a longtime resident of Fayetteville, she was prominent in many civic and governmental affairs. She was a secretary for the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce several years. She served as a jury commissioner, a juror and as an election official for Washington County.

She volunteered her services on behalf of the Fayetteville City Library, the Walton Arts Center, Central United Methodist Church, Washington Regional Medical Center and Washington County Historical Society, among others.

On the campus of the University of Arkansas she was for many years the sponsor of the student Law Wives Club of the School of Law, a member of and chapter adviser for Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, a volunteer for the Arkansas Alumni Association and a member of the Faculty Wives Club.

She was a Washington County representative-member of the Committee of One Hundred which supports the Ozark Folk Center, Mountain View, Ark.

Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, Fayetteville, in a private ceremony.

A memorial service will be at a later date.

Appreciation is due to Dr. David Clay and Dr. Steve Wood and special caregivers, Sharon Snell, Teresa Walters, Anita Martin, Cynthia Sugg, Bonnie Dobbs, Julie Hunton and Shaniya Keith. We want to express our gratitude to the people of Washington Regional Hospital Hospice.
