Louis Tilford Dodwell was born March 28, 1930 in Friendship, Arkansas and went to be with our Lord May 31, 2016.

Louis was the son of the late Carley Clyde Dodwell and Nettie Meeks Dodwell. Tech Sergeant Dodwell served 22 years in the United States Air Force with tours in Japan, Goosebay Labrador, Taiwan and Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star award for valor. He served with the 314 Supply Squadron (TAC) on Air Trans Support. On retirement he worked another 20 years as owner and operator of Dodwell Trucking Fleet, also Dodwell’s Grocery and Laundry in Gurdon, Arkansas.

Louis was preceded in death by his son, Michael Louis Dodwell; six brothers, Leonard, Doyle, Melvin, Lloyd, Bobby, and Tommy; two sisters, Lorene and Dorothy.

Survivors include daughter, Karen Moseley and husband Russell; four grandsons, John Moseley, James Moseley and wife Leah of Alexander, Arkansas, Justin Dodwell of Greeley, Colorado, Jeffrey Dodwell and wife Kimmy of Evans, Colorado; eight great-grandchildren, Shaun, Jessika, Madison, Presley, David, Jeremy, Nevaeh, and Michael; sister, Sylvia Thomas and husband Joe of Garland, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends who loved Louis and will miss him always.

Graveside service: 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2016, Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home, certified Veterans Funeral Care provider.
