Funeral services for Mr. Audrey Elton Marsh, Jr., age 88, will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Steve Gilley officiating. Interment will follow in Western Cemetery, Emerson, AR under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 18, 2016, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Marsh was born on June 13, 1928 to Audrey Elton, Sr. and Mary Maude Rowe Marsh in Shreveport, LA and passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in Bossier City, LA. Mr. Marsh was a life long resident of Shreveport and Bossier City. He was a faithful member of New Era United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Marsh Marine Construction Co, Inc. for 20 years and also worked 26 years for Libby-Owen Ford Glass Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed coming to the farm, driving his tractor and was a cattleman.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maurice Haynes Marsh of Bossier City, LA; daughter, Melanie M. Townsend of Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Taylor Townsend and Abigail Townsend; one niece and three nephews.
Mr. Marsh was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mamie Gilley and Eddie Jo Losey.
Pallbearers will be Joe Wynne, Larry Garrett, Larry Gilley, Shelton Wiggins, Blake Wiggins and Russell Jones.
