George E. Evans, 88, of Ozark died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, in his home.
Born Feb. 21, 1919, at Altus, he was the son of the late Matt and Elizabeth Leding Evans. He was a retired truck mechanic for Gateway Transportation of Chicago, Ill., a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Altus, the St. Joseph's Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica "Fronie" Post Evans; two daughters, Linda Rowe of Garland, Texas, and Sandy Miner of Ozark; a son, Michael Evans of Ozark; a brother, Leo Evans of Chicago, Ill.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Rosary service was Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home, Ozark.
Funeral mass was recited at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Father Hilary Filiatreau. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Robert Taylor, grandsons Michael Evans, Adam Evans and Jake Miner and nephews Ronald Evans and David Myers.

Fronie Evans, 90, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 in Ozark.

She was a homemaker and a registered nurse, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus, Arkansas, and the Mothers Society and Quilting Guild.

She was born June 28, 1924 in Altus to John and Sophie Sax Post.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Evans; two sisters, Bertha Myers, and Martha Hoyle; five brothers, Father Cletus Post, Louis Post, Norbert Post, Alfred Post, and her twin, George Post.

She is survived by a son, Michael Evans and his wife Carol of Ozark; two daughters, Linda Rowe and husband Robert of Garland, Texas, and Sandy Miner of Ozark; five sisters, Rita Evans of Tinley Park, Illinois, Lucille Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, Hermina Falck of Oelwein, Iowa, Gertrude Vaught of Altus, and Trenna Kremers of Clarksville, Arkansas; five grandsons and four granddaughters; and ten great grandchildren.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, July 7, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial in Ozark. Mass service will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus with Father Hugh Assenmacher, OSB officiating, and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Altus, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Michael and Adam Evans, Jacob, William, and Joe Miner, and Cody Corbin.
