Kenneth Albert Evans, 72, of Altus, Arkansas, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, in Ozark, Arkansas. He was born May 9, 1941, in Altus to Mathew and Rita Post Evans.

He was a retired owner/operator of a trucking company, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Altus, St. Joseph Society, Knights of Columbus, and the Altus Museum.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mathew Evans.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altus with burial at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Runningen Evans, of Altus; his mother, Rita Evans of
Tinley Park, Illinois; two daughters, Christine Sperry of Edgerton, Wisconsin, Penelope Evans of Chicago, Illinois; a son, Jason Evans of Altus; six brothers: James Evans and Ronald Evans of Tinley Park, Illinois, John Evans of Pahrump, Nevada, Stanley Evans of Lynwood, Illinois; Steve Evans of Burr Ridge, Illinois; and Robert Evans of Calumet City, Illinois; a sister, Connie Fields of Midlothian, Illinois; and one grandchild, Evan Sperry.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark, with visitation following from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
