Betty Brown, 89, of McNeil, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at her residence.
Betty was born November 20, 1926 in Magnolia. She is preceded in death by her parents Homer Roy and Julia Effie (Fomby) Butcher; husband Elmer Jay Brown, Jr.; brothers Jim Butcher and Bob Butcher; and granddaughter Robin Brown.
Betty is survived by her son Jay Brown of Magnolia, AR; daughter Julie Stroebele and husband Steve of McNeil; brothers Tom Butcher of Milton, FL and Joe Butcher of San Antonio, TX; grandsons Tim Brown of Camden and Austin Brown of Collinsville, OK; granddaughter Heather Vanderveer of Savannah, GA; several great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve McAbee officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials are sent to Columbia County Animal Protection Society at P.O. Box 2003, Magnolia, AR 71753.
