Rachel Godwin, 66, of McNeil, died on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2007, at her home.
Rachel was born on Sept. 12, 1941, in Atlanta, Texas, the daughter of Charles Ray and Maude Elizabeth (Elkins) Wilson. She was a homemaker and founding member of Faith Baptist Church. She was active with arts and crafts and made numerous wedding cakes for couples in the local area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Godwin; a son, Christopher Godwin; and two nephews, Justin Franks and Matthew White.
Survivors are her sons, Tim and Carmen Rainwater of Hope, Clint and Sharon Godwin of McNeil, and Jeff and Lavana Yates of Hope; daughters Gina Blann and David of McNeil and Tracye and Sim Bailey of Magnolia; grandsons Kyle and Denni Peek of Magnolia, Adam and Misty Bohannan and Jon Blann, all of McNeil, Kristopher, Jacob, Tyler and Kristian Bailey, all of Magnolia; granddaughters Kerry and Kelly Lamkin of Stephens, Dawn and Russ Hopper and Madeline Blann, all of Hampton, Dusty and Don Neimeyer and Ashley Cobb, all of McNeil; great-granddaughters Morgan Peek of Magnolia and Lilly Neimeyer of McNeil; great-grandsons Blake Bohannan of McNeil, Cason and Harrison Lamkin, both of Stephens, Jayden Neimeyer of McNeil, Stephen and Nicholas Yates, both of Hope; sisters Charlyne and Doug Wood of Emerson, Sally and Steve Franks of Magnolia, Rebecca Gould, Sue Lynn Wilson and Margaret White, all of Little Rock; and a number of nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. on Monday at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Elvis Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia. Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Zane Franks, Bo Wood, Robert Navra, Kyle Peek, Kelly Lamkin, Charlie Franks, Douglas Wood, Jeremy Navra and Bobby Navra.
