John Howard Stewart, 78, of Altus, Arkansas, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in Ozark, Arkansas.
He was born December 11, 1937 in the Concord Community of Franklin County, Arkansas to Olin and Mittie Bowles Stewart.
He was a retired U.S. Forestry Officer. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosemary Hudson and Maxine Stewart; and two brothers, Olin and Bolin Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Nichols Stewart of Altus; a daughter, Stephanie Belt and husband Ken of Ozark and stepdaughter Erica Barnes and husband Wade of Van Buren, Arkansas; three sisters, Jane Graff of Mulberry, Arkansas, Bertha Bearden of Ozark, and Judy Mobarak of Little Rock; two brothers, Jack and Eb Stewart of Mulberry; and three grandchildren, Zack Belt and Olivia and Emma Gilreath.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 21, 2016 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Zack Belt officiating and burial at Rankin Cemetery, under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
