Melva L. Harris, 78, of Ozark died at her home Tuesday, December 21, 2010. She was a homemaker. She was born August 11, 1932 in the Cravens Community to Dennis Whitson, Sr. and Bertha Moon Whitson.
She was a member of the Rehobeth Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, A. T. and Coy Whitson; and two sisters, Colleen Hanson and JoAnn Graff.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Harris, of Ozark, a daughter, Connie Harris Payan of Downey, CA; two sons, Stephen Harris and Eric Harris of Ozark; two sisters, Anna Jackson of Mulberry and Paulette Booth of Ft. Smith; three brothers, Dennis Whitson, Jr. and Glenn Whitson of Mulberry, and Bob Whitson of Ozark; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Service was at 10:00 A. M. Monday, December 27, 2010 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Terry Pickrell officiating and burial was at Rankin Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
Serving as pallbearers were Ralph Hayes, Shaun Jackson, and Tim, Ben, Dan, Guy, Mark, and Dale Whitson; and the honorary pallbearer, Jerry Lindsey.
