Loretta Williams Arjona, 68, of San Diego, Calif., formerly of Ozark, died Friday, July 10, 2009, in San Diego. Born July 27, 1940, she was the daughter of Harold and Goldie Cagle Williams of Ozark. She graduated from high school in McFarland, Calif., in 1958 and earned degrees from College of the Ozarks and the University of Arkansas.
She spent her entire career in teaching at various educational institutions, retiring as dean of continuing education at the University of Arkansas, Pine Bluff. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and the House of Puerto Rico in San Diego.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Jose Arjona; two daughters, Christie(Price) Turk of Little Rock and Bethany(Price) Phillips of Conway; two stepdaughters, Christina and Kara Arjona, both of North Little Rock; a stepson, Jason Jarvis of North Little Rock; her mother and stepfather, Goldie and Edgar Cagle of Ozark; a sister, Peggy McKee of Ozark; and four grandchildren.
The body was cremated under the direction of Bayview Cremation and Burial Service of San Diego. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
