Bob John Penland, 78, of Ozark died Sunday, August 3, 2014, in Rogers, Arkansas.
He was born November 8, 1935 in Alix, Arkansas to Ted C. and Nettie Sampley Penland.
He was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Veta Canady Penland; a brother Wayne Penland; and two sisters, Sue Hurt and Iva Mae Pyron.
He is survived by two sons, Ricky Penland of Alma, Arkansas and Joe Penland of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and a daughter Sandy Holcomb of Grove, Oklahoma; a sister Wanda Francis of Idaho; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Friday, August 8, 2014 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial in Ozark.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 8, 2014 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark,and burial will be at Nichols Chapel Cemetery.

Veta Louis Penland, 79 of Rogers, Arkansas formerly of Ozark, Arkansas died Sunday, January 1, 2012 in Rogers.
She was a homemaker.
She was born February 22, 1933 in Ozark to Bob and Minnie Brown Canady.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Shaffer Chapel with burial at Nichols Chapel Cemetery in Altus, Arkansas under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Penland of Rogers; two sons, Ricky Penland of Alma, Arkansas and Joe Penland of North Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Sandy Holcomb of Rogers; two brothers, Monte Canady of Ozark and Doug Canady of Rudy, Arkansas; two sisters, Quita Mainard of Cecil, Arkansas and Carmen Gaines of Ozark; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
