STARK CITY, Mo. — Charles "Gene" Shockley, 70, of Stark City, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014, in Bentonville. He was born April 20, 1944, the son of Herbert Shockley and Virginia Oxford Shockley in Fayetteville and was raised in Hickory Creek Community.

He was a 1962 graduate of Springdale High School and married the former Beverly Wilson on March 16, 1966. He attended the House of Worship and served in the Army National Guard. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Beverly Shockley of the home; sons, Eddie Shockley and his wife, Nicole, of Springdale, John Shockley and his wife, Paula, of Fayetteville; daughter, Kristie Johnson and her husband, Mike, of Springdale; five grandchildren, Aron Johnson, Martie Shockley, Cole Shockley, Hayden Shockley, Emma Claire Shockley; and one great-granddaughter, Harley Johnson; three stepgrandchildren, Gared Holt, Hunter Holt, Blake Mason.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at Revival Tabernacle Church in Springdale, with Pastor Paul Eden and Pastor Bill Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Creek Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials in his name go to Circle of Life Hospice, 1201 NE Legacy Parkway, Bentonville, AR 72712.

STARK CITY, Mo. - Beverly Kay Shockley, age 74, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021. She was born on Nov. 13, 1946, in Fayetteville, Ark., to Arnett and Essie (McGinn) Wilson.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles "Gene" Shockley.

Beverly and her husband Gene were devoted members of the House of Worship in Hindsville.

She is survived by her three children, Eddie Shockley and wife Nicole of Springdale, John Shockley of Stark City, Mo., and Kristie Johnson and husband Mike of Springdale; one sister: Betty Young of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Aron Johnson and wife Kate, Martie Shockley, Cole Shockley, Hayden Shockley and Emma Claire Shockley; two great-grandchildren, Harley Johnson and Hudson Charles Johnson.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville, followed by a 2 p.m. funeral service. Interment to follow at Hickory Creek Cemetery in Lowell.
