FAYETTEVILLE — O.J. Hagar, 77, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home. He was born June 18, 1937, in Winters, Texas, to Ordna Jones and Fay Grace (Roberts) Hagar.
O.J. was a member of Pleasant Street Church of Christ where he served as a deacon. He worked for Northwest Arkansas Truck and Equipment for 28 years, then O'Reilly Auto Parts for 10 years. He enjoyed the outdoors. golf and football, and was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Barbour, and a grandson, Tyler Hagar.
He is survived by his wife, Jody (McGarrah) Hagar whom he married Jan. 11, 1958, in Roswell, N.M.; six children, Ricky Hagar of Springdale, Nancy Burton of Lowell, Judy Nichols of Bentonville, Howard Hagar of Springdale, Susan Wright of Magnolia, Gerald Hagar of Springdale; two sisters, Sandra DeMaris of Alabam, Charline Moore of Woodruff, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5 at Pleasant Street Church of Christ in Springdale. Burial will be at Hickory Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are with Heritage Funeral Home, online guest book at www.heritagefnwa.com.
