LIEUTENANT COLONEL US Army National Guard
July 10, 1934 - February 21, 2013
US ARMY NG RET. Lt. Col. John Thomas Blevins, 78, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Clarksville and Ozark, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
He was born July 10, 1934, in Harmony to Orvil and Flois (Brown) Blevins.
He attended Pleasant Valley Church of Christ in Alma and was retired from the California National Guard, was the former director of maintenance for Parkhill School District in Parkville, Mo., and was a graduate of Clarksville High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, Calif.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hardwicke Funeral Chapel in Clarksville with burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; four daughters, Leslie Jordan of Ada, Okla., Kim Lynch of Andrews, Texas, Shawna Quintana of Lubbock and Karen Blevins of Raytown, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and sister, Betty Bounds.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Joni Lyn Blevins.
