Loyd Yates of Hartman, Arkansas, was born January 29, 1921, in Hartman, and passed away May 10, 2016, in Russellville, Arkansas, at the age of 95. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by two wives, Alma Havener Yates and Alvia Ann Groskopf Yates; his parents, Charlie and Tennie Smith Yates; two brothers, Edgar and Dwight Yates; and a sister, Chaylene Wofford.
He is survived by a son, Norman Yates of Anderson, South Carolina; a daughter, Donna Leavell of Clarksville, Arkansas; a brother, Doyle Yates of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters: Florine Stabler and Marie Crawford, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, Arkansas.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2016, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Justin Carmody officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Hunt, Arkansas.
The United States Army Funeral Team will serve as pallbearers
