Howard Wane Halmes, 83 of Hartman, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 in Fort Smith.

Mr. Halmes was born October 22, 1932 in Ozark to Mr. Fuller and Euna Mae (Chandler) Halmes.

Howard served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed playing cards, and hunting. He was a truck driver, school bus driver, and a cattle farmer.

Mr. Halmes is preceded in death by his parents, all of his brothers and sisters, one nephew; and his wife Katherine Ann Halmes.

Mr. Halmes is survived by two nieces, Karen Nordin of Clarksville, and Christy Halmes of Colorado; three nephews, Larry Blackard of Hartman, Joe Halmes, and David Halmes both of Ozark; one niece in law, Sarah Halmes of Ozark; along with numerous great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Jackson Cemetery with Frank Grubbs officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home

Katherine Ann Halmes, 77, of Hartman, Arkansas, died, November 6, 2012 in her home. She was a retired Teller and Clerk and attended Grenades Chapel Methodist Church. She was born in Eddy, Texas to Adolf and Ann Slovak Pechacek. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond Pechacek.

Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Jackson Cemetery with Reverend Frank Grubbs officiating under the directions of Shaffer Funeral Home.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Halmes of Hartman; three nephews, Larry Blackard and wife Carol, Joe Halmes and wife Linda and David Halmes and wife Paula; three nieces, Karen Nordin and Christy and Sarah Halmes; several great nieces and nephews.

Rosary will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 with visitation to follow from 7:00-8:00 PM, at Shaffer Funeral Home 2315 W. Commercial in Ozark.
